Astrological Association: Mars in Scorpio
Description of the Illustration: It is Sunset at the ocean, and the sky is a mixture of darkening hues. Sir Percival faces us as he leads his weary horse, both their heads bowed in exhaustion. He stares at four golden chalices that lie on the ground before him, knocked over and spilling what could be either wine or blood upon the sand. Shining in the sky behind him we see Sir Galahad, clasping the Holy Grail as he steps into the City of the Spirit amongst the clouds. A scorpion plays amongst the fallen chalices, and the planet Mars rises above the horizon. A red sphere (Geburah) peeks over the bottom center edge of the card.
