The Oak King (Holly King)

Description of the Illustration: Amongst piles of presents, the youthful Oak King jumps for joy; after critically analyzing the minutest detail of every gift that surrounds him, he has successfully opened his new crown: a wreath made from holly and mistletoe. In the distance, the Old Holly King (who looks a lot like Father Christmas) lies dead, having been slain by his successor, the Oak King. Two small birds, a Robin and a Wren, are locked in battle, and it appears that the Robin is winning. A round pentacle adorns the box from which the young Oak King has drawn forth his royal prize.
