Gaia, Mother Earth

Description of the Illustration: A longhaired, pregnant woman, whose belly is the Earth, cradles the Earth with one hand while the other pours from a lovely goblet a waterfall of water upon her rounded stomach, which becomes the ocean. The Oracle at Delphi is her navel. The vast Sky, Uranus, who is both her husband and the father of her children, surrounds and embraces her, his stars twinkling with delight.
