The Sun

XIX - The Sun...

The Center

Description of the Illustration:

A golden-crowned, handsome king rides bareback astride a glorious lion, naked exxcept for his royal cloak and six-rayed scepter; he smiles happily as darkness seems to run from his presence. Orbiting about his crown are all the planets of the solar system - Mercury, Venus, Earth and its Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The Sun itself shines its approving rays down to warm him. In the distance in an ominous mirror glares a dark man who looks surprising like the King, only he is completely clothed and rides a black dog. The upper left sphere is gray (Chokmah) while the lower right sphere is yellow (Tiphereth).

Astrological Association: Sun

Element: Fire, Masculine

Achieving Enlightenment

With the acceptance of his entire existence, the Fool now sees (rather than dreams of) the radiant Sun, the representative of the Father in the Kingdom of Malkuth, for the first time. The radiance of the Sun illuminates the darkness, bringing all that was once hidden into the light.

The Fool achieves Enlightenment.
