XXI - The World...
The Limiter
Description of the Illustration:Against a backdrop of three pyramids, an aged Egyptian Pharaoh presides over a council of eleven males who sit in a circle around a model-sized planet Earth. The first male is a child, and their ages get progressively older around the circle until the eleventh is almost as old as the Pharaoh; there is a twelfth chair, empty except for a pile of clothes that is stained with blood. Each member wears an elaborate headdress; the Pharaoh and the child, however, are distinctly different than the rest of the council. While the old ruler wears the crown of the god Osiris, the child wears the crown of the god Horus. The Pharaoh and the child seem dual-natured, for they are both dark-skinned yet have brilliantly contrasting white hair and white eyebrows, as well as being clothed in white. An older woman wearing the crown of the goddess Isis stands behind the Pharaoh, clasping a black cup that seems to have captured the light. The entire group is concerned, as there are clearly some countries at war on the model Earth; the council seems to be making a decision about the hostilities on Earth. The child ceremoniously plays a black drum, emblazoned with the image of Saturn upon it, with bones for drumsticks; blood dribbles down the Pharaoh's chin. The center pyramid is engraved with the pattern of a seven circuit sacred labyrinth. The upper left sphere is white (Kether) while the lower right sphere is black (Binah).
